📖BIBLE TEXT: "For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come" (1 TIMOTHY 4: 8).

Exercise is very important to our bodies; it is a physical activity that is planned, structured and repetitive for the purpose of conditioning any part of the body to improve health and maintain fitness. The World Health Organization (WHO) and American Heart Association (AHA) recommend 1.50 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity or 75 minutes of vigorous physical activity weekly.

Our text today reminds us of the priority of godliness over bodily exercise. Exercise is very important to our bodies but as a Christian, do not spend all your time exercising your body. In fact, the total percentage for bodily exercise is just a fraction of your time, therefore; concentrate more on spiritual exercise that is profitable for your spirit, soul and body. There is no reward for those who specialize in exercising their feet but those whose feet bring good tidings have great reward (Isaiah 52:7). Fasting and prayer is a spiritual exercise that is profitable for both the spirit and the body. Preach the word and keep your body, soul and spirit fit.
